  • Restaurant inspection results are kept by the city or county health department; many publish them online or post the latest grade at the door.
  • For table service a tip of 15–20% is customary; at counter-service places tipping is optional.

We had such a great dinner at Brooklyn recently. My daughter and I decided at the last minute to see if we could get in, and I'm so glad we arrived before they opened. We didn't have reservations, but by getting there early and waiting in line, we were able to snag two seats at the bar. The bar ended up being the perfect place to sit. We overlooked much of the open kitchen and loved watching the chef, sous chefs, and prep team work together. It added so much to the experience and really showcased the attention to detail that goes into every plate. The wine and cocktail list is extensive, while the food menu is intentionally small. I actually appreciated thatβ€”the limited menu allowed every dish to be thoughtfully executed. We started with the flatbread and the ham and sharp cheese croquettes, and both were excellent. I had a Paper Plane cocktail, and my daughter ordered the Porn Star Martini, which were both beautifully made. For dinner, I ordered the branzino, and it was quite possibly the best I've ever had. The fish was perfectly cooked with incredible flavor. My daughter ordered the pork chop. It was a little sweeter than she expected, but I actually thought it was delicious. We

Had dinner at The Brooklyn with three friends, and every part of the evening exceeded our expectations. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely welcoming, and made the experience feel effortless. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor it was one of those meals you’ll be talking about long after it’s over. If you’re looking for a memorable night out in Richmond, this place is an absolute must. I can’t wait to come back.

Had such a delightful meal. I would come back just for the branzino but the pork chop was delicious as well (warning that this dish is just meat, no sides). The bread starter is interesting...like a pizza almost but the topping is quite salty with an anchovy flavor. It wasn't something I would get again but was glad to try it since it's their signature. Interested to try the mushrooms next time I dine in. The cocktails are also lovely. I got the Commodore No. 2. Would get that again as well. Great service and overall great experience.

Very nice spot! A little smaller inside than I expected. Large bar area. Big wood burning oven! Good service. Everything we tried was tasty * wood fired bread, miso bagna cauda, parmesan, dill * oxtail croquettes, jerk spice, aji verde * easterday bbq mushroom, green curry, cilantro * old tavern farms grilled kale, pine nut pistou, burrata * sticky toffee pudding, buttermilk gelato My rating rationale +1 Service +1 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +1 Value

The food was incredible, but combined with its presentation and superb service makes for a perfect dining experience. The cocktails were alive with flavor and well portioned. The food was delectable. The service was warm, friendly, and top-shelf. An all around treasure and one I find myself most comfortable in. Highly recommend the anchovy bread to start!
